Car Titles

Are notarized copies of of car titles legitimate?

I have a car title that I need to be signed by someone who is not local but I don't want to send them the whole title since if they decide to take it they now own the car. So I was wondering if it is possible to just have a notarized copy made of the title and then send that to the person to sign. If I did this would it fly at the DMV if I brought this as proof?

1. Not here in Ohio. I doubt it would any where else either.
2. no. Just because someone has the title doesn't mean they own the car...that's why they have names on them!
3. No. Only the original is valid.
