I was in a finder binder. what should happened after the police right the report?

it was my fault...was backing out of my parking space and i backed into her car..only damage she had was a broken head light and i have a small dent..police wrote report..what should happen now? sorry "write"

  1. You should contact your insurance with all the details (date, time, location, what happened, where the damages on the cars are, the other person's information). The fact that the police have written a report will make it easier. Your insurance will contact them for the written report.

Get the report number and the date from the police. then give that information to your insurance company. they will get the official police report and should take care of the hassles from there on out. that is all if you want your insurance company to fix her car or yours. If you want to fix her car yourself, then just ask her to tell you how much it cost to fix and pay for it. Most states have a minimum damage of $750 to $1500 that has to occur before you have to report it to your insurance agency. If the damage to her car is indeed minor then you may be better off to offer to reimburse her personally for the repairs. That way you don't have a claim on your insurance record and your rates don't go up.
