  1. Get the car to a body shop and have it done correctly. What kind of "paint job" do you expect out of spray paint cans.
  2. Josh you will never get an even paint spray from a can you can't adjust the nozzle or the pressure, so you will always get strips. get an HVLP type spray gun and compressor and buy the primer and paint from the auto paint store. you will send more in buying cans of paint than you would if you had the right equipment. then you can practice on a blank piece of metal. just keep practicing it takes practice to get use to the gun and how to adjust the nozzle. but your finish will not have stripes and light spots, to fix what you have done good old sandpaper start with about 80 grit and work up to 600 grit then prime the car. its very easy once you get the hang of it.
