How to get an abandoned car title in Washington State?
I have a 1967 Ford Thunderbird that was left on my property. I own the house but rent the land. My landlord evicted the previous tenants and they left behind a car and a boat. I got rid of the boat but I want to fix up the car and I don't want to put any money into it before I get the title. How do I get the title without putting the car through a public auction?

- In most states you have to go to court and get a lien on the vehicle for storage fees. But you might ask the DMV as laws vary from state to state.
- Check w/ your local DMV, But in actuality, how it should work is that your landlord is the one who should be doing this, as it was abandoned on his property, not yours , then it's his decision to give it to you or sell it...... check forlength of time vehicle has been left......different states have their ownd definitions for this
- Washington State is one of the more difficult States to deal with when it comes to obtaining a title for an abandoned car. The DMV can guide you through the process but it does take time unless you are able to find the legal owner.
- Check out with a local property lawyer
