We have a 34 3-window kit car we are putting together. How do we get a title for it?
We are told that if you try to title it through DMV a lot of stuff will have to be done to bring it up to 2006 standards. We were told you can purchase 1934 car titles to get around this. It's a kit car and most of the websites I've looked at won't do them. I know it's been done, but not sure how? This is a Street Beast Kit car; they use mustang frames. By the way - advise- don't purchase a kit car from this company ever!!! Bad experience dealing with them.

- I would call your local DMV and ask them. I know kit cars used to be exempt from some federal safety laws.. so they would be the best place/person to ask as I am sure it varies from state to state. What are you using for the frame?? Sometimes frame builders can get generic titles for their frames, or if it is from another car it can be titled as that car even tho the body is completely replaced.
- It depends on the state you want to register it in. Call your local DMV office. Your real problem might be getting it insured, most insurance companies shy away from insuring custom made vehicles, like custom choppers, and kit cars since safety standards are an issue. You might be better off buying a salvage/junk 34 and registering that on it.
