Car Titles

problem about my car titles?

ok i have acar that i purchased awhile back ago. the titles have been stolen and when i called my county clerk i was told i ahd to come with the orginal owners. yhe problem is i have know way of getting in touch with those people anymore, it was awhile back. and i was told thats the only way to get my car titles which i need to get new tags and car insurance. any help? in shelby county, tennessee

1. I thought car titles were issued by the state, not the county of residence. Check out the Tennessee DMV site link below. They have a section on replacing lost title. Forms can be printed diectly from the site
