What's a good website to do a search on someone? To search job history, car titles, backgrounds, etc?

There are a zillion places listed on a web search, but I need one that's trustworthy and secure. I need to look up some things on my exhusband who is fighting me for custody of our daughter. (I left once he started taking his abusive nature out on her and now it's a multi-thousand dollar legal mess.) Thanks, L
